I was talking to a colleague about a cute observation my child noted as we left the house early in the morning. She sniffed the crisp air and exclaimed, “It smells like Halloween!”
My co-worker agreed that there is definitely a new and pleasant scent in the air that shakes all of our senses; the crunch of leaves under our feet and shining brilliantly in the sunshine, the smell of burning fields, and the promised taste of pumpkin pie. She also remarked how quickly the season ends, so we need to enjoy the splendour while it lasts. The staff at K.I.D.S. Inc. have taken advantage of our record breaking temperatures by playing games outside, they walked to Brock Fleet Park for a new challenge, and played in the leaves at the Montrose Park. We will continue to rake up the leaves in the yard, just to have the children throw them around again, and enjoy the natural changes occurring all around us. Soon enough we will be packing on the winter clothes and celebrating the gifts of winter!
